Pure Brews: Season 2 Ep. 7 Preview

This week on Pure Brews America Ryan, Shannon and the crew start off by heading to the northern part of Michigan and visit Right Brain Brewery in Traverse City. Right Brain has a reputation for thinking about beer a little different and making beer that will definitely make you think about what’s in your glass.  Their flagship CEO Stout won the award for Michigan’s favorite stout in 2012 and the breweries line up has only grown and become more creative in the years that have followed.

“Right Brain is crazy! I love that place. If you travel to Traverse City, you must make a stop! I recommend almost anything on the beer list, but don’t leave without trying the waffle sandwiches.”-Shannon

rb“For me, one of the most terrifying moments of filming this year was at Right Brain! When we were filming the close, I had jumped in the kayak without realizing that my microphone pack caught the edge and fallen directly into the lake. The entire crew screamed! By some miracle, the microphone pack survived. Whoops!”-Shannon

After drying off the crew heads back to south eastern Michigan to check out Kuhnhenn Brewery in Warren Michigan.  Kuhnhenn has a pretty simple philosophy, make beer, make it delicious, and then make more of it.  Hard not to respect a place that keeps it simple and gets things so right.  Kuhnhenn is one of the most well-respected breweries in the state of Michigan and in all honestly if you like beer you owe it to yourself to check these guys out.  As you see can from Shannon’s inside thoughts the two of us are sharing a brain on this one.

kuhn2“I have only great things to say about Kuhnhenn! Being from the metro-Detroit, I frequent this establishment often. They don’t make a bad beer. I have the utmost respect for this Michigan legend!” Shannon
