Pure Brews: Season 2 Ep. 5 Recap

This week on Pure Brews the gang starts out by visiting a legendary brewery that has really become a household name for craft beer fans, Founders Brewing Company.   Founders makes some of the best beers on the planet and it’s cool to hear some of the stories behind a couple of their brews and the companies start.  It’s also really cool to hear the passion behind what Jeremy Kosmicki chooses to brew.  When you listen to the brewers and owners of Founders talk about their beer it becomes perfectly clear why they make such consistently good brew.  The slogan “brewed for us” that’s on every Founders label is a testament to the company staying true to themselves and brewing beer their way.

After getting a crash course on the history of brewing in Grand Rapids we head up the road to Grand Rapids Brewing Company, a company that has roots dating all the way back to 1893.  Neat fact, the owner of Grand Rapids Brewing Company also owns the chain of hyper successful brewpubs better known as Hopcat.  History and tradition are cool and all but mashball… well there’s a game that just looks like fun.  What is mashball? Well it’s a game that involves tossing Brute cans into other Brute cans while brewing. It looks like the kind of game born out of goofing around and work and would be way to much fun.
