Beat the Heat with these Beers

The Dog Days of Summer are upon us. There are many ways to beat the heat, but few are as enjoyable as cracking a cold one. It is hard to go wrong when picking a beer to quench your thirst. There are, however, some brews that shine a bit more when the sun is shining at its brightest.IMG_4639

Summer Time Brews
These brews have been quenching thirsty drinkers’ thirst for more than a season or two.
Anchor Summer: A very refreshing brew with a light body that makes it not your typical wheat beer.
Brooklyn Summer Ale: A refreshing brew with a crisp bitter taste as well as some grain and citrus notes.
Cigar City Hotter Than Helles: A refreshing lager that balances bitter and sweet flavors.
Sierra Nevada Summerfest: A refreshing beer with a strong bitter kick.
Samuel Adams Summer Ale: A crisp beer with citrus and spicy notes that make for a refreshing brew.
Tröegs Sunshine Pils: A balanced brew with a crisp taste that leaves you feeling refreshed.
Victory Summer Love: A refreshing beer with a nice lemon taste, which makes for a good summer brew.

Other Choices for the Cooler
While summer seasonals are great, here are a few other beers that will do a fine job of getting you refreshed.
Cisco Bailey’s Blonde Ale: A hazy ale that is bitter with citrus flavors.
Half Acre Daisy Cutter Pale Ale: A smooth pale ale with a good amount of bitterness as well as some sour citrus flavors.
Hangar 24 Orange Wheat: A refreshing beer with a nice orange flavor and a tangy
aftertaste.

Harpoon UFO Hefeweizen: A light-bodied brew that probes your taste buds with its big lemon flavor.
Southampton Double White: A complex brew with a citrus flavor along with hints of spices.

Something a Little Different
The last round is a nice introduction to a couple of atypical options for when it is beastly hot.
Narraganset Del’s Shandy: A very refreshing shandy for lemonade lovers.
Schofferhofer Grapefruit: A refreshing brew with a grapefruit taste.
