Avatar Jasmine IPA from Elysian Brewing – Beer Review
If you know me, you know I’m not the “flower beer” type, or at least I want to think that you wouldn’t think of me as the “flower beer” type. One thing is for sure, I am an adventure drinker. I always try to push myself out of my comfort zone and try new stuff. I’ve found some real gems this way like Massacre,  Duvel, and Fullers ESB.  It was only after my infamous review of Bud Chelada that  I recognized their are limits. So anyway, I grabbed a bomber with a Jasmine flower painted front and center with the goal of trying something completely new.
This was going to be interesting and but I couldn’t take my eye off that flower, I braced myself.
Appearance:
I poured the contents of the bomber into my glass. The light shone through the IPA with such beauty that my guard was already starting to drop. I mean look at this pic and tell me you don’t want to try this.

Smell, Taste & Mouthfeel
It has a hint of jasmine. No no not like potpourri, this smells really good like it should be in a glass of tea or beer. The jasmine isn’t over-powering and it balances with a moderate amount of hops. The mouthfeel was above average not over the top.
Overall:
When I adventure drink, there are some beers that I’m really glad I tried but I never want to try again.  This beer however, is on my radar for a 6-pack. They artfully balanced a new flavor with just enough hops and malt.   Forget the flower, it just tastes good.
